At least one child dies from abuse or neglect every week in the UK alone. Anyone who works with children should be aware of the importance of child safeguarding and the life-changing impact good practice can have on a child. This Safeguarding of Children and Young People Level 3 is for staff who may have overall responsibility for Safeguarding within their organisation. For example, the Safeguarding Lead. Learners undertaking this course will have a higher level of knowledge and responsibility in responding to Safeguarding incidents, allegations and concerns.
The Safeguarding of Children and Young People Level 3 covers safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance, how to contribute to assessments and investigations, organisational protocols and processes, how to support vulnerable children and their families and how to document incidents, allegations and concerns.
Learning Outcomes
- Learn and understand the safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance that is in place
- Learn how duty of care applies to your role in your place of work
- Learn how to contribute to assessments and investigations in regards to safeguarding children and young people in your place of work
- Learn how to share confidential information correctly relating to safeguarding children and young people
- Learn the organisational protocols and processes in place in regards to safeguarding in your place of work
- Learn and understand how to support vulnerable children and their families effectively
- Know how to refer safeguarding concerns you have
- Understand how to document incidents, allegations and concerns you have in regards to safeguarding in your workplace
This Safeguarding of Children and Young People Level 3 training course is CPD accredited. It meets accepted Continuing Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.
